My husband is a full-time farrier (horseshoer). January and February tend to be a bit slower for him work wise. He has to have some reason to spend time in the barn with his forge and he's found a new reason. Hoof picks shaped like horse legs. Pretty cool.
Baby items have taken over all sewing time for too long. What I used to do in my free time was no longer fun time. But when someone expressed interest in an owl similar to the one in my banner (up there ^), I had to make one. It is the eyes that do it for me. The hunt for the buttons, finding just the right ones. I see the owl as soon as I see the buttons. I have pairs of buttons matched up and sewn together on cards longing to be part of an owl.
My Ellie is in the 2nd grade and has a pen pal from a neighboring school district. Here is the first letter she got from her pen pal.

Hi! How are you? My name is K_____. In the winter I like to snowbord. I have five pets. My favorite thing to eat is macaroni and cheese. I am in wrisling. Once my Dad accidentally let my dog loose. My dog got hit by a truck.

It was an unintended but much-needed break from my blog the last 2 months. Keeping my husband healthy, starting a new job, just trying to keep up with life. I know that you know what that's like. I owe a bunch of you little dress ornaments and they are nearly ready for shipping. I've been working on some new designs for The Baby Gardner. Here is a sneak peek...they aren't available yet.

In my inbox I found an email from Janome describing a couple of contests they are doing that sound like so much fun! Enter to win one of these! Whoa baby. I want one of each please!
I remember being a little girl and wanting desperately to sew on my mom's sewing machine. It weighed a ton and was menacing but boy did I want to use that machine and was never allowed to. I'm no better than my mother with sharing my sewing machines (plural, yes, I own 3). So for Christmas last year Katie received her own machine and I've still not shown her how to use it. Shame on me!!
