Saturday morning

Is anyone else in the midst of vacation Bible school craziness?  I spent the week planning lessons and crafts.  The crafts are going to be FUN!  Frogs and ladybugs play a part.  I'll be sure to share photos at the end.

I found the makings for fruit salad this morning.  So exciting!

Cherries!

and peaches!  I didn't even know we had a peach tree LOL  Right now they look a bit like fuzzy olives.

My favorite tree,  curly willow.

Graduation

Ellie graduated from preschool this week.  Marshall graduated away from Molly (the boy did not want to give up his mama milk) and into the big pasture.

This is the only face I could get out of her.  She wants school to go all summer.

And Marshall wasn't any happier about being away from Molly.  Here is running to the pasture corner closest to home.  He and Molly bayed back and forth all night.  Hopefully tonight will be better.

Enough for one week

Since having a week-long migraine wasn't enough already, we've spent 2 days at the doctor because Brett has an MRSA infection again.

Since the migraine and the MRSA weren't enough, my ol' cat Taylor died.  He went to bed with me at 1 a.m. and Brett found him on the dining room floor dead at 7 a.m.  You were a good cat, Taylor.  I'll miss you sleeping next to me.  Who will "talk" to me while I'm fixing dinner?  I could have done without the sensitive stomach issues, but I'll still miss you.

I think that's enough.

Trying to beat the rain

I saw a lot of red and green in the fields today.  This was the scene shortly before sunset in one of our fields.  Our renter's hired hand planting (soybeans? I hope) before the rain starts late tonight.  It's officially spring in Iowa.

Too, too much

Ugh.  I didn't get to etsy yesterday to list owls.  As a matter of fact, I didn't even have time to work on owls over the weekend.  Too much going on.  Next Monday, pinky swear.

I'm a happy girl today

I've been accepted to participate in Plush You!   Wheeeeee!  For those who don't know, Plush You is a show for softie/stuffed/plush creations.  I will be one of 20-30 artists/creators showing at Nancy in Seattle October 10.  The other shows will be at Schmany and Fancy + Pants.

These are the photos I sent for consideration, though for the show I can create whatever I want...thank goodness.

Hey! We have cherry blossoms!

The trees are alive!  I'm so excited.  My very own cherry blossoms.  Sweet!  Too bad bunnies and deer don't eat dandelions.

Acorn tutorial

  • Hang and enjoy.
My recommendations for making this acorn: --Use lightweight fabrics, such as linen, cotton, etc. --Use heavyweight thread. I prefer to use upholstery thread for its strength when pulling and tying threads. --Make many.
