I saw a lot of red and green in the fields today. This was the scene shortly before sunset in one of our fields. Our renter's hired hand planting (soybeans? I hope) before the rain starts late tonight. It's officially spring in Iowa.

I'm so glad Spring is showing up in Iowa. Isn't the world amazing with all its zonal differences? It's fun to read about what is happening in different areas at various times of the year. I really like the picture of the tractor in action.
I wish I still lived on a farm, just way out in the middle of all that land. The picture of your home also stirred that emotion. It's lovely. I'd probably miss going out to eat though. :)
Love seeing that green and red! I have been checking out your blog for a while now and never caught on that you were in Iowa (your pictures made it seem like warmer weather). I grew up in SE Iowa and live around DM now. Hopefully we will stop getting so much rain.
My recommendations for making this acorn:
--Use lightweight fabrics, such as linen, cotton, etc.
--Use heavyweight thread. I prefer to use upholstery thread for its strength when pulling and tying threads.
--Make many.

I bet it is so neat to live where you do-I would love to see those huge fields being planted.
