Let me call you sweetheart

This one is for one of the nicest people I've never met.   When she squeezes him he will serenade her with Let Me Call You Sweetheart.

The music box (and squeakers and rattles) came from CR's Crafts, one of my favorite suppliers.

I've been busy...

so very busy.

Yesterday Katie turned 10.  She did!  Woe is me.

Brett had a visit to the gastroenterologist yesterday, too.  The good news is that they think the esophageal tear is healed.  The bad news is that the stricture is no better.  He's there this morning having a barium swallow and x-ray to check the length of the stricture.  Then back we go February 22 to have it stretched.  Between broken bones, a bad back, stitches, MRSA, and now this I'm ready for him to be well.

We stopped by the thrift store on the way home for vintage/antique buttons (boy, did I find some buttons) and got this lovely item.  Hand quilted.  Someone loved it to bits, but I wasn't leaving it there with the $5 price tag!  I would say about 90% of it is well suited for a second life as something, but I'm not sure what.

These 2 wool skirts thrifted at the same time are destined to become softies.

Snowy white

My new favorite- my first girly owl.  I've been hoarding these bits of fabric since last winter.  I planned to etsy her, but I may have to keep this one.  She's on etsy.

Sometimes I wonder if I have ADD

I'm not making light of anyone who does have ADD.  I seriously wonder about myself some times.  I have many, many things I NEED to be doing, but instead I'm doing anything but.

My mother-in-law gave me the Fiskars scallop scissors for Christmas and they added just the right touch to these sweet slippers.

Baby, baby

More baby shoes need to be made, as well as baby clothes and baby toys with squeakers, rattles, and electronic music boxes (even one that sounds like a chirping bird!!).  The first few infant-sized embroidery blanks I ordered arrived today, too.

Before you ask, the baby-making factory is closed.  I will stick to making cute stuff for other's babies. ;)

Acorn tutorial

  • Hang and enjoy.
My recommendations for making this acorn: --Use lightweight fabrics, such as linen, cotton, etc. --Use heavyweight thread. I prefer to use upholstery thread for its strength when pulling and tying threads. --Make many.
