Kissing reindeer garland

Why?  I don't know.  But it's cute.  Download the pdf and make some yourself.  Um...don't hate me for my drawing skills!  LOL

Birds and peppermints

Weekend projects.  Excuse the ugly bird legs.  I'm experimenting.   I hope to have a tutorial this week for the peppermints.

10 weird things about me

So Kim thinks I have 10 weird things about me.  Kind of presumptuous don't you think?  So maybe I am weird.

Here are 10 weird or little-known things about me.

1.  My goal as a college student was to live far away from home working as a journalist in a big city (probably Chicago or St. Louis).  Instead I live 13 miles from my parents' house and don't care if I ever work as a newspaper reporter again.

2.  I love lima beans.  Love them.

3.  I'm very impatient.

4.  I procrastinate all the time and it drives me crazy.

5.  I worry that people don't like me.

6.  When I get nervous I talk too fast.

7.  I'm messy.  So very messy.  And I hate that about myself, too.

8.  I hate cold cheese.

9.  I wish I could draw.  My dad is an amazing artist and I wish I had inherited his talent.  I would seriously consider giving up sewing if I could draw.

10.  Card making used to be my thing.  I made cards and wrote articles about making cards for a magazine for 2 years.  I have no desire to make cards or write articles about it.

Soft as a pig's ear

I've never felt a pig's ear (not that I remember), but it sounds good, no?  This pig, however, has the softest ears EVER.  Have you heard of kajjmir?  Silly name, but feels oh so soft.  It's "manmade cashmere."  Turned into a handmade pig.  Add wings and he's off to his new home.

I made a new friend last week when I asked about the Felt Toys book. Marian has the book and was kind enough to scan it for me and email it.  Incredibly sweet of her.  Thank you so much Marian!

Last night we had an impromptu photo shoot for our Christmas cards.  It didn't go as well as I had hoped.

Acorn tutorial

  • Hang and enjoy.
My recommendations for making this acorn: --Use lightweight fabrics, such as linen, cotton, etc. --Use heavyweight thread. I prefer to use upholstery thread for its strength when pulling and tying threads. --Make many.
