Something I never thought I would say

I have enough wool. So much that I need to not buy any more for a while.  It's painful to admit that.   I hit the jackpot Saturday when I found 3 wool blankets at the thrift store, one of which is cashmere.  All 3 for $8.  Plus 2 wool suit coats for 25 cents each.  It's a sickness, pure and simple.

You didn't say that out loud did you?

Talk about a score at the thrift shop.

Sigh, I can *never* find the blankets.

And I'm with Pam, I hope no one else heard you.

Three wool blankets and one is cashmere that's hitting the thrift store jackpot. Can't wait to see what you make out of them.

That cream and tan wool "blankie" it just beautiful. I'd hate to cut it up! But I'm sure sacrifices must be made...

I too had to say "no more fabric!" recently. It's oozing out of every crevice in my studiol. I feel your pain...

Awesome thrift score! My biggest find recently was a crystal chandelier someone threw out on thrash day. I wasn't too proud to stop and throw it in the back of the car!

A cashmere blanket! You hit the mother load. I don't think I could cut that up!

I must thrift at the worst places! I never find anything that beautiful or affordable! Nonetheless, I am looking forward to seeing the creations that come from these finds. The birdie is such a lovely green!

The blankets are great - what a lucky find! And Pam's little bird is beautiful!

Ach I have thrift shop envy big time. Love the wool. And honey...that is just an urban myth. We can never have too much wool or fabric! :o)

Ahhhh! I'm going to cry.................. I'm green with envy 3 beautiful blankets for $8.
Seriously good spotting.

It would have been sick if you left the shop without the blankets and suits at that price.

Lovely bird!

a cashmere blanket?
I have just turned a queer shade of green:(
I keep saying I don't need anymore felt....

Acorn tutorial

  • Hang and enjoy.
My recommendations for making this acorn: --Use lightweight fabrics, such as linen, cotton, etc. --Use heavyweight thread. I prefer to use upholstery thread for its strength when pulling and tying threads. --Make many.
