Doll "patron"

Dollpattern0001

Dollpattern0002

I squealed with delight when I found this in one of the drawers of Gram's old sewing machine case.  I put it on the table Sunday and hadn't touched it since.  My dilemma was whether to pull out the pin holding it all together or just leave it alone.  Obviously, curiosity got the better of me!  Written on the outside is "doll patron."  I carefully removed the pin (quite tiny) and gently unfolded the yellowed, brittle paper.  My heart was racing as I saw arms and legs appear.  Then a groan...no head.  A headless doll pattern.  Boo hoo.  "She doesn't have a head!" I said to Brett.  "You can't make a head?," he asked.  "I really wanted her to have a head," I whined .  Tomorrow I will copy the pattern and put this one away.  This weekend I will make my first doll.

PinkThis is the package I sent for the Pink Swap hosted by Sandy over at Art Tea Life.  I hope Margarita (no blog) likes her pink package.  Fibers, ribbon, candy, vintage buttons, and a couple of surprises.  All crammed into a little box I painted pink and white.

Acorn tutorial

  • Hang and enjoy.
My recommendations for making this acorn: --Use lightweight fabrics, such as linen, cotton, etc. --Use heavyweight thread. I prefer to use upholstery thread for its strength when pulling and tying threads. --Make many.
